When The Hawthorn Blooms

In the early 1970s, Jing Qiu, a girl from a "politically problematic" family, is sent to the countryside for re-education. While documenting village history in Xicunping, she meets the talented and handsome Lao San. Their budding affection faces harsh trials: class stigma, family opposition, and the rigid social hierarchy. Can their promise to reunite under the hawthorn tree ever bloom true?
